It’s harvest season and that means a flurry of farm to fork dinners in the Treasure Valley.  Dinners showcasing local food are all the rage nationwide and whether you call them farm to fork, farm to table, or just food served outside, usually on or close to the farm that provided them, these gatherings are always fun and sometimes shockingly good.

Peaceful Belly Farms just wrapped up the last of three dinners they held in the fruit orchard on their Boise farm, serving multi-course meals that included heirloom tomato soup, tamales with duck confit and killer desserts.

The annual City Harvest Dinner on the Grove Plaza in downtown Boise is scheduled for Saturday, September 5th.  It’ll be a potluck-style event provided by several local restaurants with Idaho wine and beer, a free concert and a silent art auction.  Purchase tickets for $20 online at www.sccidaho.org

The Boise Urban Garden School will hold its annual harvest dinner the next Saturday, September 12th.  Tickets are $50.  Call Becky Morgan for details: 208-424-6665.
