Idaho Wine Grapes
Award winning public radio producer Guy Hand takes an audio tour of Idaho’s surprising diversity of local foods and the people who produce it.
Since 2006, Edible Idaho has visited with cheesemakers, alligator farmers and native tribes literally getting back to their roots. Edible Idaho has also explored complex issues like the banning of genetically modified alfalfa, pesticide use on potatoes and the controversy surrounding factory dairies. For 2011, Edible Idaho focused on The Year of Idaho Food, a grass-roots, year-long, statewide look at the surprising variety of foods grown in Idaho.
The program airs on Boise State Public Radio in Boise, Idaho and has been rebroadcast regionally through the Northwest News Network and nationally onThe Splendid Table. I print version of the show runs in The Boise Weekly.
Edible Idaho recently won three first place awards from the Idaho Press Club in the categories of “Radio Serious Feature Report,” “Radio Light Feature Report” and ” Radio Watchdog/Investigative Report.” It picked up a third place award for “General News Reporting” from the Society of Professional Journalists, which includes Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana.

I saw the word Bhutanese (from Bhutan, I assume) in your description from Western Folklife, but on this site there’s nothing!!
I was just in Bhutan and wanted info on preparing Bhutanese foods. Please explain why it’s listed but not on your site.
Thanks,
SQUEEK LaVake
Barbara,
We’re finishing up a cookbook on Bhutanese food and other refugee cuisines here in Idaho. That’s where you probably saw the reference. I’ll be posting more information on Monday and the book will be out on May 1st.
