Year of Idaho food is fascinating. I have always loved gardening and canning -- preserving that wonderful fresh bit of summer for a gloomy winter afternoon. Every year I try one fun-goofy garden-thing that may not be appropriate to our zone, but is wildly appropriate to my curiosity. This year? An olive tree. It's so cute I can't stand it. What to do with the crop? A martini olive ... or press for olive oil? I'm not heating up the pan yet, but it could happen.
